I recently got back from staying at the Fraser Suites Hanoi for a remote week of work. This was my second time spent at Fraser Suites Hanoi, and as someone with experience working from a lot of hotels, I have to tell you that this is one of my absolute favourites.

In this Fraser Suites Hanoi review, I’m sharing all of my thoughts, including on the location, facilities, rooms, and staff, and whether I recommend this hotel for your needs.

Summing Up: Fraser Suites Hanoi Review

I’ll get straight to it: I love the Fraser Suites Hanoi. The rooms are stunning, the staff are incredible, and the rooftop pool? That’s my heaven. And all of this at a super affordable price point? You can understand why I’ve visited for two years in a row. And it’s not just that they gave me flowers on my birthday.

Fraser Suites Hanoi is a place where luxury meets functionality. The gorgeous rooms include full kitchens, and there are plenty of places from which to work, and the nearby grocery stores and mall mean you have everything you need to fully settle into life. There are so many restaurants less than 10 minutes away, with beautiful lakeside views and even a few attractions like the flower fields.

If you are considering staying at the Fraser Suites Hanoi and don’t mind being just slightly out of the city centre, then I 100% recommend confirming your booking.

Fraser Suites Hanoi Location

Personally speaking, I really love the Fraser Suites Hanoi’s location. It is found in the heart of the West Lake area, in the north of the city. This is definitely an expat area with a lot of different, but delicious, cuisine options, and is slightly outside of the central area.

For working remotely, I think West Lake is great. There are a lot of amazing laptop-friendly cafes nearby and quieter than other parts of Hanoi, whilst only being a 15-minute taxi away from the Old Quarter. I could easily get into central Hanoi whenever I wanted, and even walked along the lakeside several times for some slower-paced sightseeing (just be prepared for the heat).

If you’re looking to stay in the middle of the action and want more nightlife and authentic local surroundings, then West Lake might not be the place for you. However, if you’re working remotely or travelling with kids, I think Fraser Suites Hanoi is ideal.

Fraser Suites Hanoi Rooms

I’ve been lucky enough to stay at the Fraser Suites Hanoi twice, the first time in a Studio Executive Suite, and more recently in a One Bedroom Executive Suite. What you need to know before booking is that Fraser Suites is split into two buildings: Tower A and Tower B.

Here’s how they break down:

Fraser Suite Hanoi Tower A vs Tower B

I’ll immediately cut to the important stuff: Tower B is where you want to be. It’s the newer of the two Fraser Suite buildings, with more modern rooms and direct access to the fabulous rooftop pool (more on this later). If you can get it then the bay view is so stunning, but the city view is not a bad thing either.

In all fairness, Tower A has the Deluxe room options, which are generally larger. As a reference, the Deluxe One-Bedroom in Tower A is 55 sqm (592 sq ft), whereas Tower’s Executive One-Bedroom is 49sqm (527 sq ft). From what I can tell, Tower A is slightly better suited for longer-haul stays in Hanoi beyond a few weeks.

If you’re on a short-term trip, however, then I definitely recommend Tower B. The rooms feel new and updated, with great amenities both in the room and out. All the rooms contain a full kitchen (including sink, oven, fridge, and microwave), a washer-dryer, and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The bathrooms are also very large, with a waterfall shower and incredible mirror lighting.

All rooms are “serviced apartments”, meaning even though they’re as large as a normal apartment, you still benefit from daily housekeeping, room service, and the concierge.

Studio Executive Suite

The Executive Suite is a great space at 37 sqm (398 sq ft) that works perfectly for a solo traveller or couple. With the bed, sofa, and kitchen table, there are plenty of places to work from, and the large windows really make it feel more spacious than it is.

One Bedroom Executive Suite

The One Bedroom Executive Suite is 49sqm (527 sq ft), with a separate bedroom area. In the bedroom area is also a desk and chair, which is ideal for remote working, especially if you’re staying with another person. Believe me, having separate rooms to work from when on a remote work trip as a couple is really helpful from a productivity point of view.

Larger Rooms

I also have to point out that the Fraser Suites Hanoi also has two, three, and even four-bedroom suites. I haven’t stayed in these rooms, but if the studio and one-bed are anything to go by, I’m sure they’re great. I can also imagine that having the full kitchen and washer-dryer would go a long way for families.

Fraser Suites Hanoi Facilities

Swimming Pool

In the centre of Fraser Suites Hanoi is a beautiful lazy river-style pool with bridges, a swimming area, and even palm trees swaying in the breeze. Deckchairs and parasols line the water’s edge, making it a wonderful spot for reading or watching your kids play.

The swimming pool isn’t huge, but due to its winding shape has plenty of space for multiple groups to enjoy it. There are pool towels, nearby bathrooms and showers, and a generally laidback and easy-going vibe.

Rooftop Pool

The rooftop pool is my absolute favourite thing about the Fraser Suites Hanoi. The infinity pool overlooks West Lake, with deckchairs, tables, sofas, and even a sunken lounge area from which to enjoy the view. After a day of remote work, there is absolutely nothing better than stepping out of the elevator to this scene.

The rooftop pool is adults-only, with a poolside bar serving delicious drinks, and the Mizumi Sky Lounge restaurant from which you can order dishes directly to your deckchair. Trust me, the ahi tuna tacos and dragon roll are an absolute must-order.

Gym

The Fraser Suites Hanoi has a pretty good gym that worked great for all of my needs. There are treadmills, isolated movement machines, as well as a Smith machine and free weights. You’ll be happy to know the AC is blasting against that summer heat, and there’s also free water and towels.

Steam Room and Sauna

Right next to the gym are small but appreciated steam rooms and saunas found within the men’s and women’s bathrooms. I’ll be honest, considering how hot and humid it gets in Hanoi, I haven’t personally tried these out, opting for a dunk in the pool instead.

Lounge

Next to the ground-floor check-in in Tower B is a lovely lounge area where I enjoyed working from. With the large table and many armchair/sofa options, it made for a nice change from my room, which was still quiet and peaceful enough to get to work. I also enjoyed the view overlooking the pool, as well as the fast WiFi and free coffee.

Remote Work Trip to Hanoi: Do I Recommend?

Absolutely! I have visited Hanoi three times and am already looking forward to going back. There’s great food, friendly people, so many interesting things to do and see, and (my personal favourite thing) unbelievable coffee. There are laptop-friendly cafes literally everywhere from which to work, and every coffee I’ve had in Vietnam has been simply exceptional.
